Community Outreach Activities
- Ongoing Collections, Helping Others
Clothing Collection
We are collecting clean, gently used clothing of all sizes which will then be donated to the Angel Attic of United Neighborhood Centers. The Angel Attic offers free clothing to people in need. - Campbell Soup Labels
Collecting Campbell Soup Labels to raise extra funds
Bring in the UPC codes from your cans of Campbell's Soup to help us raise needed funds to supplement our outreach efforts! - "New Hope" Chest
A monetary collection to help the poor of Northeast PA & Africa
Drop your spare change into our "Hope" Chest for the New Hope Fundraising Efforts. Visit our Diocesan website @ www.diobeth.org for more information on New Hope but basically, we are part of a huge fundraising effort that will benefit the poor here at home and in our sister diocese in Africa. - Soda Tab Collection
Collecting Soda Tabs to help those who need dialysis afford it.
Every time you drink from a can, take a moment to snap off the tab and bring it in! Soda tabs are sent to St. Jude's Hospital; they turn them into cash that is then used to help dialysis patients afford their life-saving treatments.
Annual
Participant of Souper Bowl Sunday
(for 15 years now!)
As many already know, St. Francis' Soup Kitchen in Scranton serves many of the poor and homeless in our community. For fifteen years now, we have been participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring by taking a collection on Super Bowl Sunday and donating 100% to St. Francis'. They tell us that for every $2 donated, we feed five people! We are so happy to be able to help, and we recommend that everyone look into this easy way to feed the hungry and help the poor, loving as Jesus loves.
